Software testing is necessary in order to sell products. IT personnel in a software development company are going to test the different products. Software testing is its own department within a business. ISEB is one company that provides accreditation for software testing courses. It is important to have at least a certification in software testing to make the salary you desire.

Course Description:

Software testing courses have the objective of preparing you for the exam. The course allows students to perform testing procedures on software, examine the software for standards, and learn the different tools needed for the testing. Testing jobs require staffers to gain knowledge about testing information and standards. The course will teach people how to find this information. The basic steps that make up the software testing process are also included in the course. Other topics include testing terminology, why testing must be completed, the development life cycle for testing, different models of testing, and the economic side to testing software. Integration, functional system testing, and non functional system testing are part of the lessons. At the end of the lessons a test lasting one day will be given. The test is often conducted in two parts. There is a written exam and then a hands-on exam walking through a portion of testing procedures.

Course Duration:

Courses through ISEB are 3 days in length. Other companies providing software testing courses will vary in duration, with at most a 10 week course for college credit. Home study courses also allow students to work at their own pace.
