IT Support and Maintenance
When an individual wants to further their career in the IT field, getting a certificate in support and maintenance will open many avenues. This field of expertise is in high demand for many applications. Typically you may think of a computer service technician; however, some other venues to explore would be as an IT Manager, Technical Service Agent or a Forensic Computer Analyst. Many exciting challenges and rewards await the student that decides on an IT profession.
Course Description:
The entire world is linked by computers, so this course gives the student the ability to work on various areas of the computer. The technician will be part of a team that networks with others to carry out plans, build them, expand on them and maintain them once they are working. There will be an intimate knowledge of computer hardware, how desktop systems work and configuring networks. Throughout the course there will be theory classes and hands on lab practice. Once this course is completed the student can take several exams for different certifications. These would include CompTIA A+ Essentials, A+ IT Support Technician and Network+.
Course Duration:
The amount of information that is required in this course will take about a year to complete at a college or university. It requires that the student go full time. An online course allows the amount of time to be determined by the student. However, with the plethora of knowledge that must be acquired twelve months is probably a good indication of the time needed.
